Bandipora, Oct 31 (KNO): A massive forest fire broke out at Yaali forests in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday morning while the authorities are putting efforts to douse the flames.
Eyewitnesses told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the wild fire broke out in several compartments in Yalli forests of Khuihama range along the Bandipora-Gurez road, turning ‘green gold’ into ashes.
However, the authorities have so far failed to bring the situation under control, resulting in engulfing of fire to other forest areas, the locals said.
An official from forest department said that the officials along with the locals are on job to douse the flames, adding that the fire service along with SDRF, forest officials and volunteers are trying their best to control the fire spread in the forests of Bandipora—(KNO)
